Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my contribution through Plastic Bank is creating real impact for the people and planet?
Our blockchain platform records every plastic collection, ensures verifiable real impact, and provides secure income for our collector communities. When you sign up as an Impact Member, you gain access to our Impact Hub to see all of your contributions in action.
What do you do with the plastic after it's collected?
Collected plastic is delivered to processors for reprocessing it into recycled plastic feedstock. The feedstock is then reintegrated into products and packaging by organizations and brands aiming to reduce their dependence on virgin plastic.
What does Plastic Bank do and how does it benefit collectors?
We work with plastic collectors in vulnerable coastal areas, where plastic pollution and poverty are high and infrastructure is lacking. They use the PlasticBank® app to record their plastic collection and compensation for its exchange. They also gain access to social benefits like food vouchers, health insurance, school kits, and more, helping them break free from poverty.
What countries do you operate in?
We currently operate in the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Brazil, and Egypt.
