A Plastic Bank collection member gathering plastic bottles from a flooded street in the Philippines

If plastic were as valuable as diamonds, would anyone throw it away?

You already know where the plastic is. On the street, in the canal, washed up after every storm.

Nobody walks past money on the pavement. They walk past plastic because nobody made it worth stopping for.

So we did.

Inside Plastic Bank.

Questions?

No. Plastic Bank is a social fintech. People bring the plastic they gather to a local branch and are paid for it, and businesses fund that exchange.

Anyone 18 or older can apply to register in the PlasticBank® app. Once registered, bring your gathered plastic to a collection branch, where it is weighed and paid for on the spot.

Accepted plastics vary by location. Check your branch in the app before you visit.

Create a free household account anyway and we'll show you the nearest collection point. If you teach at the school, or can put us in touch with someone who does, the school can start its own program for free.
