June highlights: Ocean, planet, and people.

This month’s newsletter is packed with hope and impact. 💚🌍
In June, we celebrated World Oceans Day and saw promising steps at the UN Ocean Conference in Nice, France, like protecting 30% of oceans by 2030 and boosting blue economy financing.
While leaders talk, our 59,000+ collectors in Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Brazil, Egypt, and Cameroon take action; collecting plastic bottles, protecting oceans and nature every day. Join us to empower these planet heroes with better livelihoods.

June observances

June is filled with powerful global observances: Reef Awareness Day (June 1), World Environment Day (June 5), World Oceans Day (June 8), World Day Against Child Labour (June 12), and Father’s Day (June 15).
Each one is a reminder of our shared duty: to protect the Earth, safeguard our oceans from plastic pollution, support the everyday heroes driving real change, and share the love with those who matter.
This is the very heart of our mission at Plastic Bank: gathering for the prosperity of both people and the planet. Join us in transforming plastic waste into worth and in creating a cleaner and better world for future generations.
Good news from our social media

The ocean is in crisis - but there’s hope on the horizon. At #UNOC3 in Nice, world leaders are calling for bold action:
🌊 Protecting 30% of oceans by 2030
🐟 Promoting sustainable fishing
🚢 Decarbonizing the maritime industry
💙 Boosting investment in blue economies
Scientists in Japan have developed a new plastic that dissolves in water, offering a breakthrough solution to ocean pollution. Made from biodegradable materials, it works like regular plastic but breaks down safely in water, making it ideal for single-use items. A big step toward a cleaner future.

Damian in Australia began picking up cans during beach walks to unwind. Seven years later, nearly 500,000 cans helped him pay a home down payment.
Waste, in the right hands, becomes a tool for change. Just like Damian, thousands of our members turn plastic into food, school, healthcare, even homes. 💚
