The next generation of business if regeneration.

For too long, we've been waiting for big businesses and governments to lead the change toward regenerating our planet. But what if we've had it wrong?

Think about it. Small businesses make up a staggering 90% of the global business population. They are the lifeblood of our economy, and yet struggle to grow, let alone find impactful ways to address environmental and social challenges.

What if we unleashed their power by democratizing environmental and social impact? Imagine a world where small businesses are empowered to end poverty, stop plastic pollution, and grow with purpose.

This begins today with the launch of our Impact Subscription guaranteeing the traceable collection of a pre-set amount of plastic bottles by Plastic Bank’s collection community members. Gathered plastic is exchanged by members for money and social benefits, including health, work and life insurance, digital connectivity, grocery vouchers, school supplies, and fintech services.

Through their Impact Account, small businesses get access to tools and resources that help effectively communicate their commitment to regenerative practices and the purpose economy. These include authentic stories, photos, videos, and social media content from collection communities; dedicated web pages showcasing their real-time tangible impact; ready-to-deploy in-store materials for retailers; and downloadable impact certificates showcasing the amount of plastic the business has helped gather from the environment.

The 2022 Google Cloud Study reveals that 82% of shoppers support brands that align with their values, 66% search for eco-friendly brands, and 55% say they would pay a premium for sustainable products.

“If we provide entrepreneurs with the guidance and resources to integrate purpose into their business and help them build a tribe of like-minded customers who recognize and reward this shift, we can drive unprecedented growth and impact. It’s a win-win-win for the people, the planet, and the businesses.” - David Katz, Founder & CEO of Plastic Bank

Philippines

Last month, our Philippine team participated in the second Philippine ESG Investors Summit at Solaire Resort in Paranaque City, Metro Manila. David delivered a keynote that challenged businesses to extend their environmental and social governance efforts beyond compliance. He showcased how dedicated ESG strategies can enhance profitability and contribute to ending poverty and stopping plastic pollution.

Indonesia

Our partner CooperVision visited us in Bali, Indonesia, for a remarkable two-day journey. A diverse group of 28 individuals engaged in various activities, such as mangrove cleanups, visits to local schools, and interactions with our collection communities. Since beginning our partnership with CooperVision in 2021, together, we have gathered over 6 million kilograms of discarded plastic and provided 100 free glasses to members in need.

Brazil

In Brazil, we distributed 200 vegetable baskets to our collection members in Espírito Santo. To date, we have delivered over 2,000 food baskets to our members across the country. This initiative showcases the power of our collaboration and commitment to making a meaningful, positive impact in the communities we serve.

Egypt

Since the beginning of the year, we have distributed over 3,000 grocery vouchers to 1,040 collection members in Egypt. These vouchers allow members and their families to purchase basic necessities from designated grocery stores, providing crucial support for their daily needs.
