Conduit for change

The fulfillment of ocean stewardship is multiplied when we share it with others.

Last month, the Organic Produce Network invited Plastic Bank to participate in the Organic Produce Show. Our booth provided participants a QR code to scan and stop 50 plastic bottles from reaching the ocean while helping collection community members transcend poverty.

Egypt

Plastic Bank Egypt has stopped 300 million bottles from entering the Nile and the ocean. Simultaneously, our collection communities have expanded to the cities of Assiut, Elminya, Burj ElArab, and Hurghada with the opening of 7 new collection branches, taking our presence to a total of 26 across Egypt.

Brazil

Last month, Plastic Bank Brazil activated Darcy Vargas, a new collection branch in the neighbourhood of Realengo, Rio de Janeiro. Our collection community in Brazil now includes 82 collection branches, including our Community Partnership Program collection branches in schools, churches, and condominiums. Together with our partners, we have collected more than 3 million kilograms of plastic in Brazil - equivalent to over 156 million bottles!
