Are you ready to take the #OceanStewardChallenge?

It’s Plastic Free July, an opportunity to address how we are using plastic, and how we can better steward our planet through responsible consumption.

The month kicked off with #CleanBeachesWeek, and we invited everyone who feels overwhelmed by the devastation of ocean plastic to take part in our #OceanStewardChallenge and begin making a difference.

We simplified the challenge to a four-step activity for our #OceanStewards:

Join a local clean up or start your own by gathering a few friends, colleagues or the whole family.

Head to your closest park, beach or streets to gather plastic waste, then make sure it is sorted and disposed of in the proper bins.

Don't forget to snap some photos, tag @PlasticBank and #OceanStewardChallenge for a chance to be featured on social!

Lastly, challenge your friends or favourite brands to take part in the challenge as well!

Indonesia

Our Community Partnership team conducted a 5-week training program for teachers in Bali and East Java, Indonesia. The program was specifically designed for young Ocean Stewards to build positive recycling habits and foster curiosity around stopping ocean plastic! The program was conducted in partnership with Alliance to End Plastic Waste (AEPW) and empowered schools to become plastic waste collection facilities for students, teachers, families and the wider community.
