Our communities just keep growing!

This month, in honour of World Oceans Day, we’d like to pay tribute to our communities and the work they are doing to save the ocean. Every. Single. Day.

Indonesia

Our communities took to Mertasari Beach in Sanur, Bali for a beach cleanup! Community members from across our collection network in Indonesia, including collection members, branch owners, and school and faith members gathered together to save the ocean and raise awareness about the importance of preserving our precious coastlines.

Brazil

In partnership with SC Johnson, we launched a new collection branch called Rocinha Recicla in Rio de Janeiro. The launch event began with a breakfast for the collection community members as well as a variety of activities and social services, including legal documentation support, the distribution of Cash.In cards to receive benefit payments, and even grooming services! Since its opening, members have exchanged more than 6,000 kilograms of plastic - equivalent to more than 300,000 bottles.

Philippines

In partnership with Coca-Cola Philippines, we celebrated World Oceans Day with an event titled Ecosystem Impact Week, held in Robinsons Place General Trias. The event highlighted the progress and milestones of our community members in our shared mission to stop ocean plastic. Partner booths from BPI Banko, Philippine Red Cross, and PHILUSA Corporation provided our members with financial and insurance services, as well as health kits. The Coca-Cola / World Without Waste booth provided activities and fun freebies in exchange for PET plastic bottles!
