Cast your vote for the planet

Are businesses prioritizing the regeneration of our planet? Recent findings from What Impact’s white paper reveal a concerning trend: 57% of sustainability professionals encounter significant hurdles, mainly due to a lack of budget and organizational interest. With 17% struggling against indifference to social value and 40% constrained by financial limitations, it's evident that the commitment of some organizations to environmental and social initiatives is more superficial than substantial.

We need a paradigm shift where social value isn't just a checkbox but a core element of business strategy, offering real benefits for both communities and our planet. However, this isn't solely a challenge for sustainability professionals; it's a call to action for consumers worldwide.

Your decisions as a consumer wield immense power to affect change. Each purchase is a vote for the world you wish to live in. By supporting companies that genuinely prioritize the health of our planet and the well-being of its inhabitants, you contribute to meaningful progress.

We rely on you for choosing brands that are authentically making an environmental and social impact, moving beyond simple declarations to efforts that help regenerate a wasteless, equitable world.

The time is now for businesses to choose action over apprehension – for our planet, our communities, and the future we're building for the next generations.

Making #Moments come true

Meet Haris, one of our collection members in Indonesia. After his family lost their home and livelihood to a devastating fire, what little remained had to be sold to make ends meet. Since beginning to collect and exchange plastic, they've been working hard to recover all that was lost.

Watch his story and how you’ve helped him and his family experience relief and restoration.

Philippines

In the Philippines, students and teachers across various departments of our school partner, M.G. Araullo High School, have come together to weigh their monthly plastic collection. This collaborative effort raises awareness about proper waste management among students and parents, fostering a commitment to plastic recovery. Through this initiative, we are nurturing future leaders to champion policies and legislation for environmental protection and economic opportunities.

Indonesia

Our Indonesia team has entered another year of partnership with ESTA Corporation. This partnership, which began in 2023, has successfully prevented 20,000 kilograms of plastic – equivalent to 1 million 500ml plastic bottles – from polluting the environment. Inspired by this milestone, ESTA Corporation has committed to doubling its impact with Plastic Bank to 40,000 kilograms of plastic – equivalent to 2 million 500ml plastic bottles – by the end of 2024. This collaboration also provides access to social benefits for our members, such as BPJS Health Insurance, BPJS Work Insurance, and meal vouchers.

Brazil

Our partner Alcon has stopped over 69,000 kilograms of plastic from entering the ocean in Brazil. This January, they’ve also committed to distributing 400 hygiene kits and 400 school kits to collection members and their families in Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo. Our ongoing collaboration with Alcon stands to support and uplift our collection communities, bringing meaningful improvements to their lives.

Egypt

In collaboration with Henkel, our team in Egypt has refurbished collection branches across the country. The project included painting works, secure cable management, pest control, enhanced lighting, and improved ventilation. We have also equipped the branches with essential safety measures like fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and protective gear. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to ensure all active branches in Egypt, and future ones, meet our standards for a safe and efficient work environment.
