Philippines

Our team in the Philippines participated in the ASEAN Plastic Packaging and Recycling Technologies Summit 2023 in Manila. We engaged with several recycling companies and packaging experts who shared the industry's recent innovations and best practices. We also had the opportunity to introduce how Plastic Bank helps companies achieve their EPR targets while making their brands environmentally and socially impactful.
Last month, Maragondon National High School (MNHS) also celebrated its second year of partnership with us, and the milestone of preventing over 2,000 kilograms of plastic (equivalent to 100,000+ 500ml PET bottles) from flowing into the ocean. Led by its youth environmental club, MNHS is proud of its school community’s achievement, proving that everyone can make a difference for the planet and the people.
Indonesia

In Indonesia, we participated in the International Waste Treatment Technology Forum & Expo 2023 hosted by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jakarta. During the event, we talked about the progress and impact of our #SocialRecycling movement with Indonesian government officials.
Our Community Partnership team in the country also conducted various events to educate school and faith communities about proper plastic waste management and encouraged them to bring their plastic for recycling in exchange for cooking oil. This outreach effort successfully added 840 new collection members across Bali, Jakarta, and East Java.
Brazil

Our team in Brazil engaged with key market stakeholders at Rio Innovation Week, the largest technology and innovation event in Brazil. During the event, we committed to stop 50 ocean-bound plastic bottles for every attendee who pledged to become part of our Social Recycling movement. At the end of the event, we had 400 new movement members stopping 20,000 bottles from polluting the ocean.
Egypt

In partnership with Henkel, we supported more than 800 school students in Egypt across different communities by providing them with school supplies for the coming school year. The distribution took place in seven communities across five cities in Egypt.
