Our Social Recycling movement thrives on the dedication of our collection members, who are at the heart of our mission. Their commitment and passion fuel our relentless fight against plastic pollution. And now, it's time to shine a spotlight on these everyday heroes.

We've kicked off a mission to bring Moments of Joy to our extraordinary collection members whose selflessness inspires their families and communities. Our first destination? Brazil!

Our Founder, David Katz, met with Fabricio, a community member based in Rio de Janeiro who has collected over 15,000 kilos of plastic since he joined our movement – all to save enough money to provide a home for his family.

Philippines

Our collection communities in the Philippines are continuously expanding. Our team recently activated a new ecosystem in Coron, Palawan — a famous beach and marine destination in the country. To kick off our operations, we distributed social benefits, such as rice and accident insurance, to our collection members in Coron.

Indonesia

Our Community Partnership team in Indonesia collaborated with seven new schools and a Muslim community in East Java. This program aims to educate local communities about plastic pollution and encourage them to bring recyclable plastic to the collection branches in their schools and places of worship.

Moreover, Plastic Bank Indonesia became an official member of the Indonesian Plastic Recycling Association (ADUPI), solidifying our commitment to addressing plastic pollution and promoting a circular economy in Indonesia. This partnership involves over 500 ADUPI members working together to increase plastic recycling across the country.

Brazil

In partnership with SC Johnson, Plastic Bank Brazil has reached the collection milestone of 4 million kilograms. This is the equivalent of 200 million plastic bottles prevented from reaching the ocean and reintegrated into the packaging production chain with the help of 3,643 collection members in 49 collection branches in Brazil.

Egypt

In Egypt, the children of our collection members completed a three-month summer program in partnership with Henkel. Throughout the summer, the kids participated in engaging educational sessions and fun-filled sports activities. A heartwarming closing ceremony was held on the program's last day to celebrate the children's achievements.
