What collaborating with Plastic Bank did for Ocean Bottle

Helping deliver the brand promise

Each Ocean Bottle sold funds the collection of 11.4 kg of ocean-bound plastic, diverting millions of kilograms of plastic before they can reach the ocean. That is executing through partnerships like the one with Plastic Bank.

Scaling positive global impact

Plastic Bank’s global operations in countries like Indonesia, Philippines, Brazil, Egypt, provide more stable incomes and social benefits to coastal collecting communities, increasing plastic collection and recycling in these areas.

Strengthening credibility & loyalty

Ocean Bottle builds a community and a customer base deeply aligned with its mission, which is bolstered by Plastic Bank’s traceable and measurable impact.

“We wouldn’t be able to work as close as possible to the ground without our partners like Plastic Bank. They are essential to our mission!”

How we collaborate

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. While Ocean Bottle was designed to be reusable and durable, it goes beyond by supporting the collection and recycling of 11.368 kg of plastic with every bottle sold. By partnering with Plastic Bank for the plastic collection mission, Ocean Bottle is able to have a positive impact in regions that lack infrastructure and have highest global rates of plastic pollution leakage to the ocean. Besides the material being collected before it reaches the ocean, it also delivers additional pay and social benefits for the collecting communities.

What Purpose Means to Ocean Bottle

Ocean Bottle was founded with a clear mission: to combat ocean-bound plastic while empowering individuals to take part in the solution. More than just a reusable bottle, Ocean Bottle is a movement that connects consumers, businesses, and communities in a shared commitment to protecting the planet. By designing products that are highly durable and directly fund plastic collection, Ocean Bottle transforms everyday actions—like refilling a bottle—into meaningful impact.

Ocean Bottle team establishes the collection focus, while Plastic Bank takes care that the plastic collection work and community impact is being done, measured and reported.

“As a social impact business, working with organisations like Plastic Bank is at the core of our mission: to enable individuals to make a global impact on the ocean plastic crisis.
