Meet Shaun Frankson
Shaun Frankson is the Co-founder and CTO of Plastic Bank.
A digital strategist and systems thinker, Shaun led the creation of the blockchain recycling platform at the heart of Plastic Bank’s operations and developed the brand strategy that brought Social Plastic® to the world, generating more than 300 media features and helping build a movement of millions. Today, Plastic Bank works with some of the world’s largest organizations to stop plastic pollution at its source.
Recognition & impact
Shaun has been recognized globally for his work at the intersection of technology and purpose. Named an Ashoka Emerging Innovator and IBM Champion, he and co-founder David Katz received the Sustainia Community Award at COP21 and the United Nations Momentum for Change Award at COP23. His TEDx Talk on responsible consumerism has reached audiences worldwide, and his work has been featured in the documentary A Plastic Ocean, CBC’s Dragons’ Den, and media outlets across the globe.
