Plastic Bank’s Continuing Partnership
with Lombard Odier Cherry Note
Devising investment solutions to stop ocean plastic and fund education through the "Cherry Note"
Lombard Odier has developed a new Structured Product named Cherry Note, in partnership with Plastic Bank. This product directly supports children with educational bursaries which can be used towards tuition and school supplies, while also helping collectors earn an income through the collection of plastic. The premium collectors receive helps them provide basic family necessities such as groceries, cooking fuel, and health insurance.
This means Lombard Odier will be able to provide bursaries to over 3,500 children, while preventing the equivalent of over 16.5 million bottles from entering the ocean and supporting collector incomes in Indonesia and The Philippines.

Investing in the future
Lombard Odier continues to drive “The Sustainable Revolution” in finance with innovative products and investment strategies. Its evolving partnership with Plastic Bank shows its commitment to creating real social and environmental change through financial solutions. This partnership began in July 2020 – with the first issuance of Lombard Odier’s Blue Note product, which directly contributes to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal #14 Life Below Water – and continues today with the launch of Cherry Note, which contributes to UN SDG #4 Quality Education, in January 2021.

“At Lombard Odier we believe in the urgent need for a fundamental redesign of our economic model, which is currently unsustainable. We must evolve and transition to a more sustainable, regenerative alternative – a future based on a Circular, Lean, Inclusive and Clean model. Our partnership with Plastic Bank directly supports this aim, through minimizing waste and ocean pollution, as well as supporting the creation of a fair and secure society through increased access to education for all.”
