Demand Planner

The Demand Planner supports the Sales and Operations Planning process through on-going management of demand plans and sales forecasts. You will help enhance the responsiveness of Plastic Bank to fulfill customer demand across Plastic Bank’s product suite by working closely with sales to distill a 3-6 month rolling sales forecast into a production plan that provides Supply Chain and Country Leadership needed visibility to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders while also monitoring the intermediate and long-term (18 months) demand outlook. The Demand Planner works closely with sales, supply chain, and country leadership and leads the sales plan discussion during regular regional Sales and Operations Planning meetings.

Location: ideally Vancouver, Canada. Remote based candidates will be considered.

Key Responsibilites:

  • Own overall consolidation of the sales forecast and play a key role in S&OP meetings.
  • Conduct regular demand reviews with the sales team to ensure the sales pipeline is accurately represented in demand planning.
  • Manage the ongoing forecasts/demand plan and order placement for a given portfolio of customers encompassing Social Plastic “base business.”
  • Analyze customer schedules/forecasts for mix/volume fluctuation identifying volume, capacity, or lead time discrepancies against expectations.
  • Actively track actual sales against forecast to identify exceptional or unforecasted activities, individual customer performance against contractual commitments, and overall trends.
  • Ensure collaboration from all functions, build and maintain good communication and collaboration across Supply Chain, Country Leadership, Sales, and Finance.
  • Point of communication for Customers, and cross-functional stakeholders to regulate any issues with the demand plan or customer needs.
  • Coordinate and assist with S&OP documentation.

Skills Required:

  • 5+ years of inventory planning, forecasting, or related experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel and experience with demand planning tools (we don’t have one yet!).
  • Strong problem solving and project management skills, with the ability to navigate a fast paced, high-growth, and constantly evolving company.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive attitude is needed. Comfort with ambiguity is a must.
  • Ability to clearly communicate the main takeaways to people from a wide range of functions.
  • This is a new role for Plastic Bank - help us build the function.
