We are celebrating our 7th anniversary!
7 years ago our founders, David Katz and Shaun Frankson, recognized that rather than seeing plastic as just a convenience, we needed a way to reveal its inherent value. They then stepped into the unknown and created a platform that reveals the value in our world. Over the past 7 years, we have been steadfast in our efforts to stop ocean plastic and improve the lives of collector communities.
- Over 11,000,000 kg of ocean-bound plastic collected
- Over 19,000 collectors registered on the Plastic Bank platform
- Over 300 active branches around the world
- Active operations in Haiti, Indonesia, the Philippines, Brazil, and Egypt
Thank you to our collectors, partners, and employees for their commitment over the years. Together we are empowering a regenerative society. Help celebrate by taking action to stop ocean plastic with us today! Thank you for being on this journey with us!
Help empower collectors like Made Wangi in Indonesia and join our mission to stop ocean plastic and reduce poverty today!
We’ve accomplished significant results toward our 2025 goal. For example, between January 2020 and December 2020, we prevented 510,350,100 single-use plastic bottles from entering the world’s ocean – the equivalent of 10,207,002 kilograms prevented from entering the world’s oceans.
These concepts play an important role in the three Abrahamic traditions – Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. They also underlie the principles of Plastic Bank’s model to help stop ocean plastic while improving the lives of collector communities.
Between January 2019 and December 2019 we have collected and recycled 3,232,082 kg of ocean bound plastic – the equivalent of over 160 million single use plastic bottles prevented from entering the ocean.
